Another small update, this time ticking off the Red Hunters Librarian; Continue reading
Just a quick post today.
I’ve started painting my list of items to get my list ready for the Pompey Pillage & decided to start things off with the Ratling squads. I’ve managed to get these little buggers done pretty quickly by colour batching so we’re only talking about a few hours over a couple of days to get these done.
Continuing down the road of testing out what my man-dollies can do in the new edition of 40k is an ongoing process at the moment.
Last night I met up with one of my besties for some scientific dice rolling at our FLGS so that he could further test out Ork units & I decided to pull my long suffering Deathwatch out from the back of the hobby cupboard.
I managed to play a few games with Death watch in 7th & have always found it hard not to go down the “Pimp my Killteam” style of list building. I mean they struggle to put numbers on the board anyway but who in their right mind can resist all the sweet gear? *cough*FRAG CANNON*cough* With that in mind I thought why change the habit of a lifetime, or at least one edition of 40k?
This weekend saw the release of 8th edition 40k & so this will be my first official battle report. I’ll be using my Mechanicus force from the previous project log posts so apologies for the unfinished minis.
- Mission: Deadlock (Maelstrom of War)
- Deployment: Dawn of War
Wolves have first turn, AdMech fail to steal.
Carrying on with the Adeptus Mechanicus I decided the other evening that while I have enough Tech-Priests for this particular build I fancied something other than the stock miniature for the second Tech-Priest….so to the bits box! Continue reading
This is going to be a long slog getting each force up to speed so I shall endeavor to keep the hobby A.D.D. to a minimum & focus on one force at a time.
First up for reorgansing are my Adetpus Mechanicus. It’s not an overly large force as it started during the Gathering Storm with the release of Cawl & the Grand Convocation detachment which mean I could have Knights & Skitarii in one detachment.
As I’m sure you’re aware all the rules for 8th edition were leaked & readily available if you know where to look. Giddy with excitement I’ve been looking at these a lot & have been able to organise the miniatures I want to use into a workable list:
So despite having a hefty hobby backlog for 40k I decided that there was something that I had to have for this new edition right off the bat. That coveted treasure was Robute Guilliman, here on known as Booty Man, Primarch of the Ultramarines. Continue reading
